Sourcing + Designing Cotton Wearables

The cotton produced in South Mexico is of two kinds – one is thick, durable and used for towels and blankets. The other feels almost like a gauze – it’s incredibly lightweight, opaque, and perfect for wearing. These fabrics left me absolutely mesmerized on my last trip and they drew me back to the region this summer.

I scouted out a few select seamstresses and worked with them to adjust small details on a handful of goods. We worked together to make little changes that would make a big impact, which is true to my process and design style. After the sampling process, I submitted my orders and what you see here is a summation of that process.

My hope is that you find yourself wearing these pieces daily and that you’ll find them beautiful. Enjoy!
